About Outset
Outset is an experiential career exploration summer program giving high school students rare, hands-on access to clinical environments, physician-led instruction, and real career discernment — at university campuses across the U.S. and internationally. We're looking for a design-forward marketing contractor to support our growing team through a busy season of paid ad testing, sales enablement, and program materials.
About the Role
This is a design-first freelance role for someone who is all-around smart, has generalist marketing experience, and brings particular strength in graphic design (and preferably video editing). Experience with Canva & Claude is preferred. Beyond designing ads, you'll flex and help us design presentations, collateral, and student-facing materials. There will be some projects that you take on that are not design-related: we want someone open to taking on general marketing projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Design (Primary Focus)
- Design ad creative for Meta and TikTok — both video-based ads and new still/static creative
- Edit and produce basic video content for paid social ads
- Build presentations and sales collateral
- Design materials for students and academic programs (guidebooks, 1-pagers, etc)
- Support website design needs as they arise
- Light content management support: if teammates need specific photos or assets pulled together, you're the go-to to make sure they have what they need
- Advertising Partner Coordination
- Interface directly with our Meta and TikTok advertising partners to ensure they have all designed ad assets needed for new creative tests on a week-to-week basis
- Generalist Marketing Support (As Needed): Help with one-off marketing projects as they arise, which may include:
- Copywriting support
- Email design and edits
- Occasional edits within Brevo, our email marketing CRM
- Helping coordinate blog/content contributors
What We're Looking For
Required
- Strong marketing experience with clear experience/expertise in design
- Working proficiency in design tools (Canva is preferred, but Figma also fine)
- Organized, responsive, and comfortable managing a variable week-to-week workload without handholding from leadership
- Experience using AI tools (preferably Claude)
Preferred, but not required
- Video editing skills (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar) — comfortable cutting and formatting short-form video for paid social
To Apply
Please include a portfolio/examples showcasing your design work. We would also like to know your available start date and available hours per week.
All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States and are required to have U.S. residency at the time of application.
If you are a person with a disability needing assistance with the application, or at any point in the hiring process, please contact us at support@themomproject.com.
Screening Questions
- Portfolio: Please share a link to 2-3 relevant projects showcasing any of your past design work. Digital ad creative, any video editing, and collateral design is especially helpful.
- Tools: Which design and video editing tools do you use most (e.g., Canva, Premiere Pro, CapCut), and how comfortable are you working primarily in Canva?
- Availability and rate: Can you start by 10/27 and commit to ~15-20 hrs/week through 1/11/27 (potential for extension)?
