Job description
We are seeking a Part-Time Marketing Manager to join our expanding team! The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing all marketing and communications initiatives for our Museum, including public relations, social media and website content, email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and management of paid advertising. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marketing best practices, as well as experience working with a variety of marketing tools and platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
· Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan and digital marketing strategy for the museum, aligned with overall marketing goals and objectives.
· Create visual content including photography and video, create and organize image library.
· Manage all social media accounts, including creating and publishing engaging content, running social media ads, and responding to comments and messages.
· Create and manage all marketing campaigns both in print and online, writing, and designing newsletters, placing ads, and tracking performance.
· Create and manage and direct and email campaigns including developing email lists and selecting EDDM routes.
· Develop and manage the museum's website content, including writing and editing copy, creating and publishing blog posts, and optimizing the site for search engines, including conducting keyword research, writing meta descriptions and title tags, and creating high-quality content.
· Manage paid advertising campaigns on Google.
· Stay up-to-date on the latest marketing trends and technologies.
Collaborate with the museum’s strategic marketing firm and website developer on special projects and other matters as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital marketing, public relations, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in marketing and communications; a focus on marketing museums or cultural institutions a plus.
· Strong understanding of marketing best practices, including advertising, social media, and content marketing.
· Experience with a variety of marketing tools and platforms, such as WordPress, Google Analytics, ConstantContact and social media management platforms. Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Canva is a plus.
· Must be able to create engaging posts, reels, stories, and other content using both photography and video for social media. Basic video editing skills required.
· Excellent written and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse internal and external colleagues and stakeholders a must.
· Ability to recruit, train, and manage marketing interns a plus.
· Creative and strategic thinking skills.
OTHER:
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
· Able to lift and carry 40lbs.
· Available to work school vacation weeks and over summer vacation.
· Occasional additional hours for special events and large programs including evenings and weekends will be required as needed.
· Provide back-up coverage for the Visitor Services staff for breaks and sick days.
