Our customer is a leading global media and entertainment company that creates and distributes a large portfolio of content and brands across television, film, and streaming and is available in over 200 countries and territories and over 45 languages. Headquartered in New York, NY with more than 30 office locations in the United States.
We are seeking an ASO Marketing Manager on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is a hybrid setup (3 days onsite and 2 days remote/week) in Burbank, CA.
This role requires a unique blend of user acquisition, creative, analytical, and strategic expertise. The ASO Manager will partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Growth/User Acquisition, Creative, Analytics, and Product Management to maximize app store presence, improve acquisition efficiency, and optimize ongoing live operations. The ideal candidate is both data-driven and creatively minded, with a proven background in mobile gaming.
Responsibilities:
- Own and develop the end-to-end App Store Optimization (ASO) strategy and roadmap across multiple game titles.
- Manage and continuously optimize store assets (icons, screenshots, videos, feature graphics, descriptions, etc.) to maximize funnel efficiency, conversion rates, and installs.
- Lead A/B testing initiatives across internal tools, App Store Connect, and third-party platforms.
- Conduct ongoing keyword research, competitive analysis, and performance reporting to identify trends and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Apple, Google, and other platform partners to maximize featuring opportunities and implement best practices.
- Partner with Growth, Creative, and First Party teams on testing roadmaps and marketing strategies.
- Assist in selecting and managing creative agencies for ASO deliverables.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership through data-driven analysis.
- Stay current on emerging ASO, mobile marketing, and mobile gaming trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing App Store Optimization for mobile games.
- Proficiency with ASO tools (e.g., Geeklab, App Store Connect, Sensor Tower/Data.ai, StoreMaven, SplitMetrics, Apptweak).
- Deep knowledge of Apple App Store and Google Play Store ecosystems, algorithms, and ranking factors.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel, Looker, Tableau, or other BI platforms.
- Proven experience synthesizing data into insights and presenting recommendations to executives.
- Strong understanding of the competitive mobile gaming landscape.
- Business analytics experience with the ability to help stakeholders visualize insights.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
Preferred:
- MBA or other graduate degree in a relevant field, preferred
- Prior experience working at a mobile gaming studio or agency supporting gaming portfolios.
- Familiarity with MMPs (e.g., Appsflyer, Singular, Adjust, Kochava) and attribution reporting.
- Experience with end-to-end marketing creative process, familiarity with technical specs and outputs across a variety of digital marketing channels.
- Experience collaborating with localization teams to optimize multi-language stores across global markets.
- Background in user acquisition or growth marketing.
- Experience preparing executive-ready presentations and reports.
- Creative eye for optimizing store assets that resonate with diverse gaming audiences.
- Familiarity with ASO/SEO principles in app ecosystems.
