We are seeking a Marketing Program Manager, Digital Media and WOM on a contract basis who will partner with the extended Digital Media and Word of Mouth (WOM) team to lead program management and prioritization between the channel, internal marketing strategic partners and external agencies and vendors/publishers to ensure holistic campaign integration and drive best possible customer marketing experiences and business performance outcomes. This role is unique, as it will provide an opportunity to further build marketing skills in integrated media and to drive program management, sitting on an award-winning marketing team. You will lead by proactively managing the Digital Media channel and related programs of WOM to partner with key stakeholders and drive focused, prioritized and efficient workstreams while identifying roadblocks and making recommendations on how to resolve them quickly and efficiently. This role will report to the Group Marketing Manager of Digital Media. The role will support the extended Digital Media Leadership team.

This role is ideal for someone who is customer-obsessed and is a rock star at organization and helping teams execute plans. This role will have a passion for process, details, and prioritization and thrive in an extremely fast-paced, agile, and matrixed team environment with multiple stakeholders. This role is a hybrid setup with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote in San Diego, CA.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate and monitor the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts by considering the financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements
  • Develop new business and expand the product line
  • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, develop solutions to program problems, and direct work of incumbents assigned to the program from various departments
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Act as advisor to the program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations
  • Prepare proposals to win new programs
  • Operational Excellence: Proactive and Detail-Oriented
    • Display extreme proactive program management that reduces churn, and barriers, focuses teams on the highest priorities, and facilitates on-time deliveries
    • Regularly meet with the Digital Media Group Manager to drive operations, identify next steps and identify how to work independently to collaborate with the leaders and key stakeholders to drive the team to the highest priority and most strategic business outcomes
    • Establish, maintain and promote high-quality standards, accuracy and delivery with speed, and at scale
    • Identify issues and patterns, make recommendations and create durable, repeatable frameworks, processes and solutions for team and agency management
    • Understand the impact of interconnected workflows end-to-end, to streamline across teams
    • Identify team and process gaps and champion solutions to meet team needs more effectively and efficiently
  • Strategic: Manage the short and long-term
    • Combine business acumen with operational excellence, technology and data acumen to enable our 6/3/1 year plans
    • Prioritize and sequence work to maximize business impact, accounting for trade-offs, dependencies and downstream impacts
    • Proactively identify risks and root causes, using data to drive fast and high-quality decisions
    • Leverage a data-backed approach to execute, monitor and communicate progress, trade-offs or decisions needed
  • Influence: Advocate on behalf of the Digital Media Team
    • Engage the right teams at the right time by partnering end-to-end and role-modeling a boundaryless, one company mindset
    • Build trust with stakeholders by being well-versed in go-to-market domains, balancing inquiry and advocacy, and applying structure and rigor to complex problems
  • Program Management
    • Management of complex and fast-paced digital marketing programs to successful delivery (on time, on budget, meeting requirements, and achieving stated business and technical outcomes) – this involves partnering across the extended team to understand and navigate varying goals, needs, deliverables, timelines, processes, resources and technologies including, but not limited to media, creative, and martech in order to track and help facilitate meeting business objectives
    • Establish strong relationships internally and externally to facilitate successful outcomes
    • Create clearly understandable and actionable success criteria, objectives, and requirements and communicate them to the team(s)
    • Using knowledge to innovate, refine and build Digital Media and WOM operations within the team and beyond
  • Digital Media, Brand Advocacy and WOM Program Management
    • Own Digital Media team operations E2E and provide ongoing support to the channel team by driving and facilitating various meeting agendas, invites and program-related requests with and within the agency and team marketing management systems
    • Own the agency media and creative prioritization and timelines in partnership with the extended team: creative and media drivers, as well as DM leadership and extended team (data and enablement, analytics, etc) and manage the internal team resource management process in order to understand the needs and capacity of the team
    • Represent within the internal marketing program management, and related strategic agency and vendor workflows to ensure channel prioritization alignment with business requests
    • Accountable for proactive program management that manages to all the details, solving across the Digital Media and WOM team to manage to the short and long term, as well as to efficiently support team prioritization and allocation, plus collaborate with vendors and agencies in management of co-dependent timelines
    • Be the liaison with other program management and design program management organization key stakeholders to ensure coordination and alignment with the internal org and the team for project-related requests and team design needs
    • Require entering JIRA, Marketing Performance Management (MPM) and business-related requests on an ongoing basis
    • Provide ongoing PM support across Digital Media, and WOM
    • This includes but is not limited to, assisting in driving projects as needed, in cross-team coordination, campaign and creative launches, data and analytics requests, end-of-month budget reconciliation, meeting coordination, and driving projects with outside vendors and agencies
  • Program Deliverables
    • Develop a high-quality project/program management plan(s) that support the Digital Media and WOM Team stakeholders and agencies in driving priorities to completion
    • Team allocation and reporting are set up to help manage workload across the team
    • Extreme ownership to manage the program/project operating rhythm
    • Track risks and issues and work with stakeholders to determine response plans
    • Use data to assess progress to plan and communicate progress to stakeholders
    • Manage timeline and facilitation of approvals needed to ensure the Digital Media and WOM Leadership Team are aligned to the driver and business recommendations

Must Haves:

  • 5-7+ years of channel marketing experience in one or more of the following (Display, Mobile, Programmatic, or similar Digital experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in leading programs with strong Program Management leadership experience
  • Schedule management experience required
  • Ability to drive effective communications across all stakeholders, partners, and team members to facilitate optimal collaboration and visibility, and accelerate decision-making for Digital Media and WOM
  • Ability to identify, track and manage issues and risks consistently, transparently, and accurately
  • Bold and take immediate action to mitigate or remove them effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at the mid-manager and higher level within a matrixed environment
  • Marketing Program Management knowledge, project/program framework best practices, marketing tools, and techniques
  • Understands both current and future teams needs and promotes an aspirational future state for operational capabilities
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Clear problem solver, communicator, and fast learner
  • Prior advertising agency experience is a plus
  • Agile training and experience preferred

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, similar disciplines, or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Certification is a plus

Hours & Location:

  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is a hybrid setup with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote in San Diego, CA.
