Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with a Black woman-led organization dedicated to improving pregnancy, birth, and postpartum outcomes for expecting and new parents in Los Angeles County through education. We are additionally committed to addressing birth justice and raising awareness of the structural factors affecting the health and wellness of our community.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Marketing Strategist and Implementer to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with our mission. This role will focus on creating effective marketing funnels, email campaigns, and social media strategies while consulting on branding changes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pregnancy and birth landscape and the challenges faced by Black women in this context.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Marketing Strategy Development:
    • Create a robust marketing strategy tailored to the unique needs of expecting and new parents in Los Angeles County,
    • Identify key messages that resonate with our target audience, highlighting birth justice and community empowerment.
  2. Funnel Creation:
    • Develop and implement marketing funnels to effectively convert leads into clients.
    • Create email marketing campaigns that nurture relationships and inform our audience about services and initiatives.
  3. Social Media Strategy:
    • Design a comprehensive social media strategy and content calendar to increase engagement and visibility.
    • Utilize platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to amplify our message and connect with the community.
  4. Branding Consultation:
    • Provide insights and recommendations for branding changes that reflect our mission and values.
    • Ensure that all marketing materials align with our organizational identity and voice.
  5. Performance Monitoring:
    • Establish growth and visibility KPIs related to sales, audience engagement, and community impact.
    • Review performance on a regular cadence, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet established goals.
  6. Research and Community Engagement:
    • Stay informed about the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum landscape, particularly as it relates to Black women in Los Angeles County.
    • Engage with community stakeholders to gather insights and foster partnerships.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing strategy, preferably within a nonprofit or community-focused organization.
  • Strong understanding of birth justice and the structural factors affecting Black women’s health.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing funnels and email campaigns.
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.
  • A passion for birth, postpartum, community empowerment and social justice.
