Job description

Founded in 2008, our client is a leading American broadcasting corporation headquartered in New York City and provides satellite radio and online radio services operating in the United States.

We are seeking a Network Engineer on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybird in Irving, TX., 100% remote outside of TX.

This role involves contributing to the Data Center & Cloud Network team, responsible for managing the infrastructure delivering custom audio content to millions of listeners daily. This position offers the opportunity to work on scalable solutions, emphasizing automation, configuration as code, and leveraging open-source tools.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, operate, and optimize network infrastructure across data centers and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot network issues ranging from load balancers to switches.
  • Drive automation efforts towards a "Configuration as Code" approach.
  • Provide expertise to software and systems engineers as necessary.
  • Maintain networking aspects of hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Continuously improve standards and practices in collaboration with other engineers.
  • Learn and teach skills within the production networking team and cross-functionally.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in production network environments.
  • Must have experience leading and mentoring teams
  • AWS Expert
  • Experience with large-scale global network environments.
  • Deep understanding of IP networking fundamentals and protocols.
  • Familiarity with hardware platforms such as Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, F5, Juniper, etc.
  • Knowledge of network protocols like BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, DMVPN, IP Multicast, SDWAN.
  • Proficiency in L2/L3 switching architecture design and related technologies.
  • Extensive experience with firewall technologies such as Palo Alto and Cisco ASA.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, Syslog, NetFlow.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS and GCP.
  • Proficiency in automating network devices using tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  • Experience with zero-trust security using Aruba ClearPass or Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Ability to take ownership of critical issues and participate in on-call support on a rotational basis.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Proficiency in Google Workplace and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to customer service principles and willingness to take initiative.
