Job description
Our Customer is a consumer financial services company headquartered in Connecticut. The company offers consumer financing products, including credit, promotional financing and loyalty programs, installment lending to industries, and FDIC-insured consumer savings products through the consumer bank, its wholly owned online bank subsidiary.
We are seeking a Node.js Developer on a contract basis to support our customer’s ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote.
The developer will integrate platforms with 3rd Party data sources and build API for strategic projects, as well as provide generalist developer duties to support special project delivery. This individual will work with other technical experts and engineers to design, develop, and deploy special project applications employing cutting-edge software development through rapid product delivery, innovation, and continuous integration practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure applications
- Develop and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
- Conduct technology assessments and build proofs-of-concept as needed
- Provide technical guidance to project teams to ensure adherence to standards and best practices
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams during development, launch, and ongoing platform improvements
- Partner with internal teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
- Maintain hands-on expertise in development environments, infrastructure, and system architecture
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Support additional technical initiatives and special projects as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cloud computing within a Linux environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Python or similar programming languages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Experience with DevOps practices and environments
- Experience working with high-traffic server-side infrastructure
- Knowledge of databases, including SQL and NoSQL systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks
- Familiarity with modern cloud-native architectures and deployment practices
