Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client once again, they are a boutique accounting firm and do require team members to perform a wide range of accounting services. You must be able to balance multiple projects, while maintaining standards of professional quality.


You must have Sage Intacct or NetSuite experience.

This role is full time.

The Controller/Senior Controller (Outsourced Accounting) will serve to lead all day-to-day finance operations including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration. This position will supervise a team of staff members and will ensure their clients have systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits.

Must Have experience with Non-Profit Accounting and have experience with Quickbooks Online, Quickbooks Desktop and Sage Intacct.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 10 years+ of accounting experience of which at least 2-5 years includes supervisory experience.
  • Must have experience working with non-profits, highly preferred
  • Must have experience with QuickBooks Online, Quickbooks Desktop, Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics accounting systems at minimum
  • Experience with software conversions
  • Demonstrated initiative, discipline, and ability to perform under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience with annual budgeting process
  • Working knowledge of managing multiple grants
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Key Functions:

  • Proficiency in intermediate accounting functions. Invoicing and entering deposits, entering expenditures, bill payment with the motoring of accounts payable aging, month end reporting including account reconciliations, processing of payroll and payroll changes, year-end reporting to include 1099 processing and proper cut off for AP and AR transactions.
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and prepare financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  • Assist with the management organizational cash flow and forecasting
  • Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting. This includes reviewing all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Provide support and direction to Directors/ Program Managers charged with oversight of the respective programs/grants/divisions.
  • Manage and provide oversight of finance staff
  • Support the Senior Accountant with the production of invoices, grant vouchers and funder financial reporting.
  • Lead audit preparation, creating a complete package for the auditors. This requires meeting all requirements of the auditors’ request list, preparing the package in accordance with auditor’s timeline, and ensuring the accurate presentation of financial statements and footnotes.
