Job Description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with a national public-interest law firm that works to advance individual liberty, seeks an office manager or administrative assistant in the Austin, Texas area.

The ideal candidate will strongly support our mission to defend individual rights and enforce constitutional limits on government power through strategic litigation.

Candidates should be highly motivated and self-accountable. Our attorneys work remotely in locations across the country. The Office Manager is a hybrid part-time position with flexible hours that require some work in an Austin office and remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving mail and directing it to the appropriate staff member through forwarding, scanning, etc.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, responding, and tracking follow-up with voicemail inquiries
  • Preparing materials for meetings of our board
  • Organizing logistics for occasional events
  • Arranging travel for staff
  • Preparing letters as directed by staff
  • Work with the development team on editing a range of communications including, but not limited to, annual reports, newsletters, surveys, email blasts, and website posts
  • Review, edit, send out, and maintain accurate records of fundraising material written by the development department including thank you notes and acknowledgments
  • Utilize donor research tools effectively
  • Handling general administrative and logistical matters as needed

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to all facets of our mission
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar employment (including remote) — law firm or nonprofit experience preferred
  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Ability to be productive working remotely
  • Availability to work in-person at an eventual Austin office

We have a collegial work environment and an entrepreneurial team dedicated to its mission. We offers employees competitive salaries, performance-based bonuses, health and dental insurance, and a retirement savings account with employer matching.
