We are looking for an Okta Systems Engineer on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is a hybrid setup with 2 days remote and 3 days onsite in Richardson, TX.

What You'll Do:

  • Support and troubleshoot systems and IAM technology including Okta & Azure
  • Design, develop, and maintain solutions that support identity and access management for clients
  • Troubleshoot and resolve access-related issues and incidents
  • Integrate Okta & Azure with various applications, directories, and identity sources
  • Configure and customize Okta & Azure to meet specific business requirements
  • Work closely with application owners and teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Enhance security by implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA), SSO, and adaptive authentication
  • Monitor and audit Okta & Azure for security compliance and recommend improvements
  • Monitor and optimize the performance and scalability of Okta & Azure solutions
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues
  • Act as an escalation point for Okta & Azure related incidents and support requests
  • Participate in on-call rotations to address critical issues
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in the Okta and Azure platforms
  • Guide root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for any service interruptions
  • Optimizes and fine-tune performance as appropriate
  • Leverage various tools and custom scripts to monitor the operational status of IAM environment
  • Provide ongoing feedback and thought leadership to operations teams
  • Identify opportunities to optimize IAM environment and provide suggestions on improvements
  • Manage and monitor quality of services delivered by internal and external partners
  • Direct operations team in proactively monitoring and management of IAM infrastructure
  • Provide guidance to IT partners on configuration, debugging, and deployment of tools requiring IAM integration
Must-Haves:
  • 4+ in IAM with a focus on Okta & Azure
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Systems/Software Proficiencies: IAM protocols, (SAML, OIDC, OAuth, LDAP), and security best practices
  • Certifications: Okta / Azure Certification is a plus
  • SSO Integration with Okta & Azure
  • Strong knowledge of IAM principles, protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth, LDAP), and security best practices
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow and execute SOPs
  • Okta Certified Administrator preferred
