We are seeking an Operational Procurement Coordinator on a contract basis who will support the Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote - East Coast or Central preferred.


The Operational Procurement Coordinator monitors the order-to-pay process to ensure supplier compliance in confirming orders, shipping orders, and providing advance shipment information, including carrier and tracking details, in a timely manner. Responsibilities include executing daily operational processes, performing reporting and analysis, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of service parts to distribution centers and customers.


The role is also responsible for identifying supply risks and coordinating with secondary suppliers to mitigate potential disruptions, while supporting activities related to the development and identification of new supplier relationships. Success in this position requires strong communication, analytical, and coordination skills, along with the ability to professionally and diplomatically drive supplier accountability for process adherence and order execution.


NOTE: Candidates must have their own laptops; the customer is not providing laptops to contractors at this time



Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve issues related to SAP system setup and configuration during onboarding.
  • Troubleshoot system and order-related issues to meet business requirements and ensure smooth integration with enterprise systems.
  • Monitor open orders to track missing confirmations, expected ship dates, shipment tracking, and other critical order information.
  • Identify opportunities to place supplemental purchase orders with secondary suppliers to resolve customer backorders.
  • Identify alternate service parts sources to support field service requirements.
  • Coordinate and execute supplemental ordering to meet field service needs.
  • Interact daily with suppliers to ensure order data is updated accurately in systems.
  • Train suppliers on system maintenance routines and assist with data entry when necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve critical part outage recovery issues for emergency and urgent service requests.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries regarding parts delivery status.
  • Support third-party logistics teams with receiving transactions and inventory reconciliation.
  • Support additional projects and operational tasks as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience in industrial, MRO, or service parts environments.
  • Strong proficiency with SAP ERP for investigation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems for problem-solving and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn, modify, and improve reporting and analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent requests effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Strong follow-up and process discipline.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to influence supplier partners to follow processes and policies.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Procurement certifications such as C.P.M., CPSM, or APICS.
  • 5+ years of procurement or parts management experience.
  • 2+ years of field service network or parts distribution experience.
