Job description

We are an exciting, emerging brand in the CPG food and beverage space. Our first product is Buckwheat Milk, the first in the U.S., and an innovative, certified organic, climate-smart, clean-label addition to the refrigerated non-dairy category. Our mission is to introduce more climate-smart crops into popular food and beverage products to support soil health, personal health, and improve American agriculture. Our 3 SKUs are available in 55 grocery retail locations in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona, including Erewhon and Whole Foods Market.

The Opportunity

Are you a motivated, eager-to-learn, self-starter, curious about the CPG industry and obsessed with organization? Apply to support our founder and CEO with crucial Logistics and Operations components of the business.

This person will assist with the planning and execution of all logistics and operations activities, including material requirement planning, inventory management, transportation, pricing optimization, and COGS analyses. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside an ambitious founder and learn the ins and outs of starting a CPG business from the ground up.

The person who fills this position should plan to dedicate approximately 10-15-hours per week to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear communication between the production, sales, and distribution stages to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain
  • Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
  • Optimize existing inventory management planning tool and food safety tracking processes
  • Process, fulfill, track inventory and food safety documents for all raw materials and ingredients, and finished goods
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with third-party logistics providers
  • Review consumption performance data and prepare forecasts for production and sales planning
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Maintain and update inventory records

Other Opportunities:

  • This is a unique position working directly with the Founder and CEO. There will be other tasks related to fundraising, sales, manufacturing, marketing, and R&D that might come up. An ideal candidate will be interested in all areas of the business and take this opportunity to learn as much as possible!

  • Comfortable working with G Suite tools, shared drives, etc.
  • An excellent communicator across all platforms – we will likely meet on Google Meets, but I hope you’ll become comfortable calling/texting with any question
  • Motivated by learning by doing, asking questions, thinking outside of the box
  • Obsessed with spreadsheets, beautiful organization, and simplifying data
