Probate, Guardianship, Estate Planning Paralegal

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Probate/Guardianship/Estate Planning Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in probate, guardianship, and estate planning law, with the ability to provide exceptional support to our attorneys and clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research, fact-checking, and evidence gathering.

With a focus on probate, guardianship, and estate planning matters, we assist individuals and families in navigating complex legal processes with care, professionalism, and expertise. Responsibilities

  1. Assist attorneys with all aspects of probate, guardianship, and estate planning cases, including document preparation, filing, and correspondence.
  2. Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies and client needs.
  3. Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
  4. Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to court requirements.
  5. Prepare and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
  6. Coordinate with financial institutions, government agencies, and other third parties as needed to facilitate the administration of estates and guardianships.
  7. Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office records.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on probate, guardianship, and estate planning matters.
  3. Strong knowledge of probate and trust administration procedures, including familiarity with relevant statutes and court rules.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools such as Westlaw.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
  9. Experience with billable hours requirements and time management skills.
  10. Excellent organizational skills.
