We are seeking an Accounting Assistant on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Eden Prairie, MN.


The Bookkeeper provides accounting and financial support for the property management team and serves as a key member of the management group. This role supports a multi-tenant retail mall environment and reports to the Senior General Manager. The Bookkeeper partners closely with the Property Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.


Hours: Approximately 28 hours per week



Responsibilities:


Accounts Receivable

  • Make collection calls to tenants
  • Enter cash receipts into the accounting system
  • Enter billing adjustments as needed
  • Perform tenant ledger reconciliations

Accounts Payable

  • Enter vendor invoices
  • Ensure proper audit trail and supporting documentation

Lease Analysis

  • Review leases and leasing activity to ensure accurate tenant billing
  • Review and calculate additional tenant charges as applicable

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain and track tenant sales information
  • Collect and enter sales reports into the accounting system
  • Maintain vendor, sales, and financial files
  • Assist the Property Accountant as needed
  • Perform additional accounting or administrative tasks as assigned


Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree in accounting preferred
  • 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Retail real estate or multi-tenant property experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with real estate accounting software preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and recurring accounting tasks independently

Preferred:

  • Prior real estate accounting experience
  • Experience working in multi-tenant retail or shopping mall environments
