Job description
Part-Time Legal Assistant
18-24 hours/week
W2
$22-25/hour
Hybrid- One day/week onsite
Location: San Marcos, CA
Start Date: March 2, 2026
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, and revise legal forms, letters and documents
- Utilize a variety of software including docketing (Altlegal or similar), practice management (8AM/MyCase),Google Suite, etc
- Perform and summarize legal research
- Provide professional communication to clients and other counsels
- Create, organize client and internal files
- Support attorneys with invoicing/expenses, including time entry and billing; and
- Hybrid work schedule
Qualifications/Skills
- Resourcefulness
- Reliability
- Diligence
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exposure to trademark docketing, USPTO, US Copyright Office, WIPO & California Secretary of state systems a plus
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively depending on nature of the project
- Competent in leveraging AI technology while maintaining client confidentiality, fact-checking AI outputs, and ensuring compliance with professional responsibility standards
