100% Remote
We’re looking for an attorney to manage, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial and product-related legal issues. This role will be key in ensuring the company's legal, operational, and compliance posture aligns with our high-growth fintech environment and partnerships with banks, vendors, and fintech clients.
You’ll work closely with our General Counsel, Operations, IT Security, and Product teams to support commercial negotiations, product launches, privacy updates, AML, BSA and regulatory compliance related to banking laws and governance processes—all while helping the company operate efficiently and responsibly.
You will:
● Draft, review, and negotiate bank, partner, and vendor agreements, including NDAs,
SaaS contracts, data processing addenda, and service-level agreements.
● Manage the legal intake queue, triaging and prioritizing new legal requests while
maintaining organized records in our contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool.
● Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Partnerships to
evaluate funds flow and data architecture for new or evolving financial products.
● Advise on data privacy and security, including updates to privacy policies, compliance with applicable laws (CCPA, GLBA, GDPR), and emerging AI-related regulations.
● Spearhead vendor management in collaboration with the Operations and IT Security
teams to ensure proper due diligence, contract controls, and ongoing compliance.
● Support corporate governance and board management activities, including drafting
consents and maintaining corporate records.
● Research and draft memos on emerging fintech products and technologies, such as
stable coin, foreign exchange, and digital assets.
● Support continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and processes to enhance efficiency and risk management across the company.
● Leverage AI-enabled tools to streamline contract review, intake, and compliance
workflows.
You may be a good fit if you:
● Have 3–8 years of experience practicing law, preferably in-house at a technology,
fintech, or financial services company, or at a firm supporting such clients.
● Are licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
● Have significant experience negotiating complex commercial and technology
agreements, ideally with banks, vendors, or enterprise SaaS clients.
● Possess a strong understanding of data privacy and information security
frameworks, including CCPA, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and related standards.
● Understand the regulatory landscape of banking and fintech, including how data and
funds flow through financial systems.
● Are highly organized and capable of managing multiple matters simultaneously in a
fast-paced environment.
● Communicate clearly and pragmatically, translating legal requirements into actionable business guidance.
● Are comfortable using and improving contract management and AI-based legal tools to enhance operational efficiency.
● Bring curiosity, business judgment, and an iterative mindset to support our “innovate, iterate, adapt” culture.
Nice to Have:
● Experience supporting product and engineering teams on product structuring and
compliance for fintech offerings.
● Familiarity with BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service), payments, or card programs.
● Experience managing corporate governance or board operations.
● Knowledge of intellectual property, marketing, or employment-related contract
issues in a startup environment.
