Founded in 2008, our client is a leading American broadcasting corporation headquartered in New York City and provides satellite radio and online radio services operating in the United States.
We are seeking a Quality Engineer on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote, preferably in the Pacific and Central time zones.
The Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, usability, and quality of a business music streaming platform. This role involves executing thorough manual testing across web, mobile, and media player environments, collaborating closely with software engineers and product managers to validate bug fixes, verify new features, and identify issues before release. The ideal candidate brings a meticulous approach to testing and a strong passion for delivering seamless user experiences.
Part-time, 32 hours/week
Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed manual testing of new and existing features across web, mobile, and media player platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand requirements, validate fixes, and confirm feature functionality.
- Document, reproduce, and track bugs using internal tools such as Jira, Trello, or equivalent systems.
- Conduct regression, smoke, and exploratory testing cycles, ensuring all test coverage is up to date.
- Maintain and update test cases, test documentation, and progress tracking.
- Provide usability feedback and recommendations from a QA perspective.
- Participate in agile scrum workflows, supporting continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in manual and automated testing for web applications and services.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on documentation accuracy and completeness.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Hands-on experience validating bugs and features in partnership with software engineering teams.
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of web and mobile technologies (HTML, JavaScript, HTTP, iOS, Android).
- Experience testing across multiple browsers and device environments.
Preferred:
- Experience with AI and automation tools such as Playwright.
- Background in streaming, media, or audio technology environments.
