SEO Blog Copywriter & Editor

Remote / Contract

Rate $40-50/hr, depending on experience

Role starting month to month, with opportunity to extend based on performance

20 hours/week

Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial, innovative SEO Blog Writer & Editor with expertise in family, parenting, and finance topics to join the team. Reporting to the Website GM, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of content production—from drafting original copy to editing of content produced by external agencies.

The ideal candidate is a "hybrid" talent who can alternate between producing high-quality original content and refining the work of others to ensure it meets the rigorous standards for SEO performance, brand voice, and factual accuracy. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to write and edit content in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Candidates for this role should be strong editors, writers, and communicators across a wide range of topics including parenting, finance, and more. Candidates should have proficiency with tools such as the Google Docs Suite and project management systems like Asana. Candidates with experience in SEO research and editorial SEO content writing and editing are strongly preferred.

This role is a fully-remote, part-time, contract position starting with a month-long contract with the opportunity to extend the contract based on performance. We anticipate that you will work approximately 20 hours / week.

What you’ll do:

  • Review and revise content from external agencies for accuracy and quality including spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax
  • Review and revise content to ensure correct and consistent brand tone and voice across all sources
  • Conduct thorough fact-checking and research to verify the accuracy of information presented in our content, citing additional sources where appropriate
  • Collaborate with the SEO and AI Content team on content strategy and keyword research
  • Develop and write high-quality, SEO-optimized content for company blog

What you should bring:

  • Experience in editorial SEO writing or editing in the parenting, general lifestyle, or personal finance space is a plus
  • Proven track record of writing high-quality, conversion-focused content that is optimized for SEO (title tag, meta description, URL, body copy, internal linking etc.)
  • Writing and editing skills that include implementing a brand voice / tone, grammar, punctuation, and accuracy
  • Uncompromising precision and attention to detail
  • Strong research skills and the ability to assess the credibility of sources
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to work with weekly deadlines and turn content around quickly
  • Must work well in a remote team environment

Nice-to-have skills we’d love:

  • Experience in project management, leveraging tools such as Asana and Slack
  • Experience using AI tools to generate content
