Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, Video Production company. The client is a woman owned and run company based in Chicago, but welcomes remote workers. They are looking for a Transcription Editor to review legal transcripts of depositions to ensure the transcribed text matches the video/audio recordings. The ideal candidate is organized, has extreme attention to detail, and excellent English grammar skills Responsibilities: - Edit and proofread transcripts to ensure they match the corresponding audio recording. These documents are official legal records, so it is critical the transcript does not differ in a material way from what is recorded - Edit transcripts to ensure compliance with company and industry required style guide, and fix grammatical and punctuation errors - Meet deadlines and work collaboratively with Exhibit 5's co-founders Qualifications/Skills: - Experience with technical editing (e.g. legal or medical) as well as a real passion for editing - Experience transcribing legal depositions - At least 2 years professional writing and/or editing experience, preferably in a legal or technical discipline - Sharp attention to detail with high-level organizational skills - Strong and flexible editing and proofreading skills - Ability to follow and adapt to industry and company specific guidelines and processes - Strong professional standards, the content you review may be sensitive and confidential Company benefits/perks: Work remotely Flexible hours and schedule
