We are seeking a Payroll Analyst on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Louisville, KY.



Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate U.S. and Canadian payroll tax returns, deposits, remittances, and reconciliations
  • Process federal, state, local, and provincial payroll tax liabilities across multiple legal entities
  • Utilize HRMS systems such as Workday and ADP SmartCompliance for payroll tax processing and reporting
  • Perform query and report writing to support payroll tax analysis and compliance
  • Conduct independent research and respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities through appropriate government platforms
  • Prepare and file amended payroll tax returns as required
  • Manage and resolve payroll tax and compliance-related tickets within case management systems
  • Ensure all payroll tax reconciliations, returns, and payments are completed by established due dates
  • Analyze multi-state payroll tax data and perform calculations to ensure accurate reporting to governmental agencies
  • Assist with HRMS tax release testing and system updates
  • Support year-end processing including W-2, T-4, and RL-1 preparation, reconciliation, corrections, and filings
  • Remain current on payroll tax laws and regulations through professional resources and publications
  • Communicate with HR business partners and escalate compliance issues when necessary
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and company policies to ensure compliance and minimize risk
  • Collaborate across HR Services teams to meet and exceed customer service SLAs
  • Complete government funding activities through Workday each pay cycle
  • Assist with audits and internal compliance reviews


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in payroll or payroll tax processing
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience working in a Windows-based environment
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain compliance with strict due dates
  • Experience performing reconciliations and remittances

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Workday for payroll tax processing and funding activities
  • Experience with ADP SmartCompliance
  • Experience supporting year-end payroll tax reporting and filings
  • Experience assisting with payroll audits and compliance reviews
