Job description

Job Title: Performance Marketing Manager
Location: Remote
Department: Marketing
Reports To: CEO
Employment Type: W2 contractor, ~15-20 hours/week to start, with potential to ramp in hours as business needs grow
Hourly Range: $70 - $73/hr, commensurate with experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Performance Marketing Manager to lead our digital marketing initiatives and optimize our online presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, expertise in various performance marketing channels, and a proven track record of driving growth through data-driven strategies. This role involves managing campaigns, analyzing performance metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Campaign Management

  1. Develop and Execute Campaigns: Design, implement, and manage performance marketing campaigns across various channels, including PPC, SEO, SEM, display advertising, social media, affiliate marketing, and email marketing.
  2. Budget Management: Allocate and manage the performance marketing budget to maximize ROI. Monitor expenditures and adjust strategies as needed to stay within budget while achieving targets.
  3. A/B Testing: Conduct A/B tests on ad creatives, landing pages, and other campaign elements to optimize performance and conversion rates.

2. Data Analysis and Reporting

  1. Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per acquisition (CPA), return on ad spend (ROAS), click-through rates (CTR), and conversion rates.
  2. Reporting: Create detailed reports and dashboards to communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  3. Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data insights to inform and adjust marketing strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization.

3. Strategy Development

  1. Market Research: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the performance marketing landscape.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and refine performance marketing strategies that align with overall business goals and objectives.
  3. Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in performance marketing to ensure the company remains competitive.

4. Collaboration and Coordination

  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the creative, content, sales, and product teams to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing efforts.
  2. Agency Management: Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors, ensuring they meet performance expectations and deliver high-quality work.
  3. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with senior management and other stakeholders to provide updates on campaign performance and strategic initiatives.

5. Optimization and Growth

  1. SEO Optimization: Implement and manage SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and drive sustainable traffic growth.
  2. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Analyze user behavior and optimize website and landing pages to enhance user experience and increase conversions.
  3. Lead Generation: Develop and execute strategies to generate high-quality leads and support the sales team in achieving targets.

Qualifications

Education

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  2. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience

  1. Proven Track Record: 6+ years of experience in performance marketing, digital marketing, or a similar role.
  2. Channel Expertise: Hands-on experience with PPC, SEO, SEM, display advertising, social media marketing, affiliate marketing, and email marketing.
  3. Analytics Proficiency: Strong proficiency in using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, and other relevant platforms.

Technical Skills

  1. Marketing Platforms: Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems, specifically Hubspot.
  2. Data Analysis: Advanced skills in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets to drive actionable insights.
  3. SEO Tools: Familiarity with SEO tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz.
  4. Advertising Platforms: Proficient in managing campaigns on Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other relevant platforms.
  5. Landing Page Development: Hands-on experience with designing and optimizing landing pages using platforms like Unbounce, Instapage, WordPress, or similar tools.
  6. Creative Design: Basic proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) for creating ad creatives and visual assets.
  7. Web Development Basics: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance landing pages and ensure optimal performance.

Soft Skills

  1. Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  2. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  4. Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Preferred Skills

  1. Certifications: Google Ads Certification, Facebook Blueprint Certification, or similar credentials.
  2. Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript for landing page optimization.
  3. Creative Mindset: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing strategies.
