Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Photo Studio Technical Associate on a contract basis to provide production-focused technical support in a fast-paced, high-volume digital studio environment. This role combines IT support, studio operations, and workflow automation to ensure uninterrupted creative production.
Responsibilities include supporting Macintosh workstations, managing hardware inventory, maintaining studio infrastructure, and enabling efficient workflows. The role requires close collaboration with photographers, art directors, and retouchers to ensure technology supports, rather than slows, creative output. The position emphasizes modern efficiency, including leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate scripting and automation efforts. This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities:
Studio Systems and Hardware Support
- Deploy, configure, and manage Macintosh workstations using Jamf
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for studio staff
- Perform regular monitor calibration using professional-grade equipment to ensure color accuracy
- Maintain and troubleshoot studio infrastructure including Wi-Fi connectivity, network ports, Zoom Room setups, and badge printers
- Manage physical setup of computer equipment on carts and workstations for incoming crew and talent
Scripting, Automation, and AI Enablement
- Use AI-assisted tools to write, debug, and optimize scripts for workflow automation
- Support and maintain custom internal tools developed using Python, AppleScript, and Bash
- Identify repetitive manual tasks and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency
Asset Management and Studio Operations
- Manage check-in and check-out of technical equipment and maintain accurate inventory records
- Provide backup support for the Digital Asset Management system, including assisting with asset searches and retrieval
- Train freelancers and staff on asset management workflows as needed
- Provide emergency troubleshooting support for tethered capture workflows to minimize shoot disruptions
Qualifications:
Strong expertise with macOS, including system configuration and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or AppleScript
- Ability to use AI tools to assist with code generation and refinement
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and server connectivity
- Experience with monitor calibration hardware and software
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly in high-pressure production environments
- Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach
- Clear communication skills when working with creative and technical teams
- Strong curiosity and interest in emerging technologies and studio workflows
Preferred:
- Experience administering Jamf policies
- Familiarity with tethered photography workflows
- Experience working with enterprise-level digital asset management systems
