The Mom Project is excited to partner with Orrick in their search for a contract Pitch and Proposal Specialist. This position could be based in any of their U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) and consideration given for 100% remote US locations.

Orrick has an exciting opening for a Contract Pitch & Proposal Specialist who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm.
In this role, you will provide direct support to our marketing team and lawyers in the execution of RFP responses and other pitch materials for the firm’s practices. You will support client opportunities across our Tech & Innovation; Energy & Infrastructure; Finance; and Litigation & Regulatory practices.
In collaboration with our marketing and communications teams, you will also create and manage strategic firm and practice marketing and business development content. As a member of the Pitch & Pursuits (P&P) Team, a key unit within the global Marketing department, and at the direction of the P&P Manager and Director, you will play a dynamic role in supporting the firm’s objectives and strategies.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with lawyers and marketing colleagues, serve as lead for pitch, proposal and RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, including content drafting and project management
- Analyze and review practice marketing collateral to ensure brand and messaging alignment
- Collaborate with a wide team of contributors to lead superior maintenance and organization of marketing materials within the department’s sales materials library
- Track the status of existing opportunity responses and manage opportunity data for assigned pitches, proposals and RFPs, including outcomes collection
- In collaboration with practice marketing and data teams, regularly review current experience related to assigned practices areas, ensuring its inclusion in core materials
- Cover tight turnaround proposals within the required timeframes and meet deadlines – including flexibility in after-hours and occasional weekend responsibilities
- Participate in pitch debrief sessions to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement across content and process
- Develop and own specific P&P functions, as assigned by the P&P Manager, to improve firmwide marketing and P&P processes, technology utilization and/or content
Qualifications
- 4-year degree (Communications, English or related field preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years of proposal management experience working in a fast-paced environment with fluid requirements that require frequent re-prioritization and flexible execution.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft a compelling story within a sales context. Applicants will be required to provide writing samples.
- High-level attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- A team player who can manage their time effectively to juggle multiple ongoing projects.
- Advanced ability to analyze large amounts of information and data for key takeaways and crafting of messaging points.
- Finance sector knowledge a plus, including knowledge of public finance.
- Excellent word-processing computer and Internet skills necessary; proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as SharePoint.
- Ability to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: Orrick’s Biography Tool; Orrick’s Portal; Orrick’s CRM platform, Foundation and other relevant firm systems.
- Superior project management skills, including independent discernment and decision-making with strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to gain agreement and to build positive relationships within the firm through quality work and through leadership.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing list of priorities and excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Highly productive, flexible and can handle stress with the ability to effectively balance projects and prioritize tasks

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is:
- California Major Markets* $$35.38 to $46.15 per hour
- New York City $39.56 to $49.45
- National $$34.36 to $45.60
This is a short-term, temporary position. Our temporary team members are eligible for paid sick leave where required by location.
