Job description

We are seeking a Planning Consultant on a contract basis who will support the Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Atlanta, GA.



Responsibilities:

  • Create, analyze, and monitor purchase orders and stock transfer orders (STOs) for finished goods
  • Resolve purchase order, stock transfer order, invoice, and transportation discrepancies
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability to support business continuity
  • Maintain inventory within established policies while minimizing slow-moving and obsolete inventory
  • Support demand forecasting and material requirements planning (MRP)
  • Monitor and maintain MRP data and planning parameters within SAP or ERP systems
  • Evaluate reorder points and restock levels to meet customer demand
  • Assess open orders, in-transit shipments, stockouts, and past-due orders, and expedite deliveries when needed
  • Ensure finished goods comply with company quality and operational standards
  • Compile and communicate inventory pre-cuts to key stakeholders
  • Monitor dock capacity and manage "too old to ship" (TOTS) inventory
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify risks, optimize inventory, and improve operational performance
  • Develop and communicate risk mitigation and contingency plans
  • Utilize business intelligence and financial data to support operational decision-making
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support operational planning and meetings
  • Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis and reporting


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of supply chain or supply planning experience in a large organization or complex product environment
  • Experience using SAP for supply planning, inventory management, and material requirements planning (MRP)
  • Experience using Power BI for reporting and data analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Knowledge of inventory management, requirements planning, demand forecasting, and master data management
  • Experience working with purchase orders, stock transfer orders (STOs), and supplier transactions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of imports, exports, and supply chain operations
  • Understanding of business intelligence and financial analysis to support operational decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience identifying supply chain risks and implementing contingency plans
