We are looking for a Portfolio Administrator on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will provide general supervision provides operational support for foreign exchange activity in mutual funds, global funds, and privately managed accounts for our client. This includes account set-up, trade processing, and settlements. Consults with the supervisor while researching and resolving time-critical and risk-sensitive issues.
What you'll do:
- Ensures communication of FX trades to the custodian and appropriate fund accounting agent. Verifies process for data integrity.
- Affirms and confirms all trades utilizing various internal and external applications.
- Liaise with brokers, custodians, and internal departments to resolve any foreign exchange-related inquiries and exceptions.
- Monitors and resolves all trade fails.
- Maintains and ensures foreign exchange set-up with approved counterparties.
- Provides support to the collateral management team as needed.
- Resolves compliance issues.
- Maintains knowledge of the ongoing industry and regulatory changes and initiatives impacting the firm’s funds and clients.
- Maintains and updates procedures as approved.
- Adheres to standard archiving procedures.
- Completes special projects to support the department as assigned.
- Leverage the order management system with other downstream operating systems in support of currency spot and forward trading.
Must-Haves:
- 3 years of relevant industry
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals is required.
- Must show the ability to establish priorities and concentrate on detailed information under pressure on a daily basis.
- This includes the ability to handle time-critical situations while meeting rigorous deadlines.
- Must have the ability to do mathematical calculations and analyze detailed numerical data.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Must be adept in all Microsoft Office programs, with a special emphasis on Excel.
- The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical.
- Must establish and maintain relationships with internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Desire to learn new and complex financial instruments and processes.
- Willingness to participate in the development and enhancement of processes and productivity.
- Ability to actively participate in projects.
- Customer focus with a keen interest in providing superb services to clients.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree.
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be remote while COVID restrictions are in place. The expectation is to be onsite at our Houston, TX office once it is determined to be safe to do so.
