Job description
Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for a Print Mail Operator on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Franklin, WI. Possible schedule is 11 pm – 7 am.
Responsibilities:
- Operate digital presses and print equipment, including set-up, standard maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Utilize production middleware systems to manage workflow and ensure accurate output to printers.
- Prioritize print and mail production to meet established service level agreements.
- Perform quality control checks, including verification, sorting, packaging, and review of random samples to ensure accuracy and print integrity.
- Operate automated inserting and mailing equipment to assemble complete mailings, including forms, letters, checks, statements, and sensitive policy or account information.
- Confirm that output totals match job requirements outlined in the mailing instruction documents.
- Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and ensure safe, accurate, and efficient performance.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs to maintain uptime and reduce operational risks.
- Stage, track, and monitor consumable inventory, ensuring supplies are available for ongoing production.
- Document vendor service calls and escalate equipment performance issues to the team lead or management.
- Support customer service with accurate information related to print and mail jobs.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and maintain a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, special assignments, and additional operational duties as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Aptitude to quickly learn and operate mainframe printing and automated inserting equipment. Basic PC skills are essential.
- Good communication skills
- Organizational skills with the ability to work within deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
- Must be flexible to work varied hours
- Ability to use a manual or electric forklift to move skids up to 2
- Ability to work well in a team setting with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift 65 pounds
- Ability to move carts of output of up to 600 pounds.
- Experience operating digital presses, printers, inserters, or other print shop machinery.
- Knowledge of print production processes and mailing operations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform consistent quality control reviews.
- Ability to follow operator guidelines, procedure manuals, and safety protocols.
- Capability to identify issues during machine operation and adjust settings to avoid errors or equipment damage.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities.
- Ability to safeguard sensitive, confidential documents during printing and mailing processes.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and work ethic.
