We are seeking a Privacy Counsel on a contract basis to help our Customer with their business needs. This role is a hybrid setup (onsite 3 days a week) in the Bay Area.
This role will support the global Privacy compliance. The Team consists of legal professionals and paraprofessionals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets who set an extremely high bar for provision of legal services.

Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and negotiating privacy terms within commercial agreements for the company's business in line with Company standards.
- Collaborating with the company's Legal and other cross-functional teams to uphold privacy compliance and compliance with internal corporate policies and processes.
- Teaming with other company attorneys and paraprofessionals to optimize support to the business.
- Helping to educate the business teams on contractual, regulatory and compliance issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA - accredited law school
- 6+ years' experience practicing as an attorney
- 4+ years’ experience advising on privacy regulatory compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- A proven understanding of general commercial contracting and Data Processing agreements
- Familiarity with EU data protection law and other privacy regimes and experience with required privacy documentation (DPIAs and LIAs).
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with cogency & empathy.
- Impeccable integrity, good judgment and well-honed analytical skills.
- Ability to see the big picture and help scale legal support of a rapidly - growing Company.
