Job description
Our customer is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers. We are seeking a contract Private Equity & Investment Management Attorney to manage private funds/alternative investments at a large law firm and/or the legal department of a private investment firm. This role is 100% remote and will be filled on a part-time basis (15-20 hours/week).
**Interview Process will consist of an Interview and a writing assessment**
Responsibilities:
- Research, draft, and edit annotated forms and practice notes (articles) for the private equity and investment management practice area
- Research and identify practical guidance articles on current awareness related to the private equity and investment management practice area
- Research, draft, and edit checklists and clauses or other needed content on investment management laws and regulations, and other matters relevant to private funds
Skills and Qualifications:
- A law degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar
- 2+ years of experience as a private equity/investment management attorney
- Substantive experience in U.S. investment management laws and other laws impacting private funds, including experience with fund formation, venture capital, investment activity, fund financing and exits, and regulation of investment advisors
- Substantive experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing documentation related to the same
- Excellent editing, legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Ability to complete assigned projects by prescribed deadlines without follow-up
- Detail-oriented and able to follow prescribed editorial guidelines accurately
- Ability to draft quickly and effectively, and to write concisely
