We are seeking a Procurement Analyst on a contract basis to help support our client’s day-to-day business needs. The Procurement Analyst receives and analyzes non-merchandise purchase requests from various business units and creates and issues purchase orders in Ariba B&I. The Procurement Analyst makes decisions and solves problems that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of company expenditures. The Procurement Analyst shall continuously identify opportunities to optimize expenditures, improve processes, and enrich policies and systems to enhance efficiency and meet expense control objectives. They will use Ariba B&I and SAP as well as other systems to evaluate company expenditures and provide execution for a variety of non-merchandise goods, services, supplies, and materials in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. This position plays a significant role in generating company savings by applying strong analytical, financial, and purchasing best practices to impact the Company’s bottom line. This role is a hybrid setup in Bolingbrook, IL.
What You’ll do:
- Analyze data to support the creation of financial purchase orders or contracts within Ariba B&I in accordance with the company’s accounting policies
- Prioritize purchasing activities according to company timelines and strategies
- Assist in executing departmental responsibilities, including buying goods and services, tracking and expediting orders, reviewing company requirements, and preparing forecasts
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely purchase orders, goods receipt, and processing of invoices within Ariba B&I
- Participate in the discovery and implementation of company continuous improvement opportunities
- Support the Procurement Department to help plan, organize, direct, and execute all associated purchasing activities
- Champion the procurement process throughout the Company
- Strengthen relationships with suppliers, internal partners, affiliates, and professional organizations to bring maximum value to the Company’s guests, shareholders, and employees
- Provide purchase order and spend data to Strategic Sourcing Category Managers and/or internal stakeholders as requested for meetings and reviews with Suppliers
- Support the company in tracking receipt of goods/services as well as timely payment for all purchases
- Other duties may be assigned
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of applicable experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of and past experience using Ariba Buying and Invoicing and SAP Procurement transactions
- Accounts Payable Experience
- General understanding of accounting principles including a chart of accounts, general ledger, balance sheet, and SAP Project Systems (WBS elements)
- Process improvement and project management skills and experience
- Intellectually curious problem solver with a proven ability to solve complex problems
- Excellent oral and written communicator
- Ability to gather, evaluate, and summarize large amounts of data
- Strong organizational and influencing skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong working knowledge of Access preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is a hybrid setup in Bolingbrook, IL.
