We are seeking a Procurement Specialist on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is a hybrid setup in Mountain View, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Architect and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for all key marketing categories, including creative, media, and public relations, etc. Lead end-to-end competitive bidding processes (RFP, RFQ) to align with business objectives and maximize value.
- High-Stakes Negotiation & Contracting: Command complex, high-value negotiations with global marketing suppliers to secure best-in-class commercial terms and mitigate risk. Spearhead the drafting and negotiation of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs), collaborating closely with Legal, Finance, and Data Security teams.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Implement a robust SRM framework to govern strategic supplier partnerships. Drive continuous improvement by monitoring vendor performance, conducting regular business reviews, and ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Process Optimization & Governance: Champion continuous improvement of procurement workflows to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and ensure compliance. Drive key initiatives in spend optimization, risk mitigation, and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor and primary procurement partner to senior Marketing leadership. Translate complex business needs into actionable sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals and financial targets.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage advanced spend analytics and market intelligence to identify savings opportunities, build compelling business cases, and guide strategic sourcing decisions that deliver measurable financial and operational value.
- Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects to execute sourcing initiatives from concept to completion, managing timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations to ensure successful outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
- A minimum of 4+ years of dedicated experience in sourcing indirect categories, with a strong expertise in one or more areas of marketing spend (Creative, Media, Production, PR services).
- Data-driven & analytical skills
- Demonstrated mastery of spend analytics, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, and should-cost analysis.
- A proven ability to synthesize complex data from multiple sources, translate it into actionable insights, and present clear, concise strategic recommendations to an executive audience.
- Hands-on experience with e-procurement and source-to-pay platforms (e.g., Coupa) and a strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a verifiable track record of successfully leading complex, high-value, and multi-faceted deals from inception to execution.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to independently lead multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and results-oriented environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities and a proven capacity to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
