Our Customer is seeking a contract Courseware Product Manager to help support their business needs. This role is 100% remote.


The Product Manager, Institutions has primary responsibility for developing and delivering

a comprehensive and integrated set of products and commercial plans to drive success for

the product(s) assigned to them. Their main responsibility will be to deliver long-term value

by solving customer problems using an integrated development framework and developing

print and digital products across the courseware to support the needs of the Institutional

segment. This position, working in conjunction with members of the team, and with a keen

understanding of the competitive/market landscape and customers’ needs, develops and

executes the strategic direction and vision for the products within his or her remit.



Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for the assigned portfolio, addressing the full end-user journey and anticipating future needs.
  • Create digital-first, simplified global product plans.
  • Collaborate with customer research and sales teams to identify customer needs and translate problems into “jobs to be done,” while integrating emerging trends and technologies into product models.
  • Define product direction to meet customer needs, integrating learning, assessment, tutoring, and related services.
  • Guide product lifecycle using agile methodologies and align initiatives with the overarching strategy. Work with platform, assessment, and content development teams to define requirements.
  • Execute delivery plans on time and within budget, ensuring governance practices are in place to manage risk and highlight success. Communicate development progress to stakeholders.
  • Build business cases and collaborate with finance, marketing, and other teams to create commercialization plans. Understand customer behavior, revenue, and cost drivers to manage profitability.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and solution development teams to design adoption strategies and execute success-driven tactics.
  • Monitor product performance, evaluate customer feedback, and provide insights to inform product development and future roadmap.
  • Work with sales and support teams to ensure proper product implementation, training, and customer support.
  • Track and analyze the competitive landscape and emerging market trends.


Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Product management or edtech experience within the U.S. market.
  • Experience collaborating with internal staff, freelancers, and editors.
  • Proven success in driving adoption with B2B and B2C strategies.
  • Background in education, learning, or assessment preferred.
  • Familiarity with agile product management methodologies preferred.
  • Strong ability to build cross-departmental relationships, influence, and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of digital learning design practices.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity while meeting deadlines.
  • Business and technical acumen, with the ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Pragmatic, results-focused, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
