Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Product Marketing Manager to join their team on a contract basis.

About The Team

The Seller Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high-value actions that enable seller growth and loyalty by developing the story and go-to-market strategy for what we’re building. We partner cross-functionally to bring seller products and features to market and drive engagement with features post launch.

About The Role

You will lead go-to-market strategy for Customer Operations experiences, helping sellers understand and follow Etsy’s policies and get the right support when they need it. You’ll make sure sellers can easily run their business with trust and confidence through clear communications from Etsy.

To be successful in this role, the Product Marketing Contractor will be a key partner in helping product teams articulate customer value and plan effective product delivery and launches while also advocating on behalf of marketing to ensure that product roadmaps support marketing strategies. You’ll operate in a highly cross-functional role, partnering closely with Product, Operations, Engineering, Design, Brand, Content, Analytics, Research, and Marketing to improve the seller experience through holistic and targeted marketing design to drive seller adoption, compliance, and retention.

This is a 6-month contract position reporting to the Director of Seller Product Marketing.

As the Customer Ops PMM, you'll:

  • Own the product marketing strategy for the Etsy Support and Trust & Safety experiences.
  • Narrating the seller journey, uncovering seller insights, and identifying key seller needs to focus product roadmaps on the largest business opportunities.
  • Leading competitive analysis on seller product experiences to inform go-to-market plans
  • Partnering with product, marketing and brand teams to determine what, where and how, and to whom we market key features and product launches, taking into account seller needs and business objectives across Etsy’s core global markets.
  • Defining the target audience, crafting clear positioning statements and clearly articulating and communicating Etsy’s unique value proposition for sellers.
  • Serving as a key collaborator between the Product and Marketing organizations.
  • Developing and aligning on-site and off-site marketing plans in collaboration with channel owners and the broader marketing team.
  • Setting clear, measurable product marketing goals and tracking progress against them, making continuous recommendations for how we can improve impact.
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of product marketing experience and/or marketing consulting experience.
  • Ability to use quantitative reasoning skills to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative.
  • Strong command of quantitative and qualitative user research methods and applications, fluent in using data to make decisions, experience with growth marketing tactics, and deep experience partnering with product teams
  • Experience simplifying complex concepts into impactful marketing.
  • Track record of driving strong growth and results through product marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships.

Hours and Location

  • M-F, 40 hours/week
  • On-site in Brooklyn, NY.
