Our Customer is seeking a Production and Tools Manager on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end production operation for marketing campaigns from intake through launch.
- Manage the production queue, including intake, prioritization, assignment, build, QA, and deployment across channels such as email, push notifications, SMS, in-app messaging, landing pages, forms, surveys, and emerging channels.
- Establish and enforce quality assurance standards covering content accuracy, rendering, audience logic, suppression rules, personalization, and targeting validation.
- Gather and validate campaign requirements and translate business needs into actionable production briefs.
- Manage campaign execution timelines, identify risks, and coordinate cross-functional dependencies to ensure on-time delivery.
- Apply compliance and privacy standards, including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and preference center requirements.
- Recommend production strategies, automation opportunities, and process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Forecast production capacity based on campaign volume, complexity, and team capabilities.
- Develop and maintain production roadmaps balancing campaign execution, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
- Estimate effort for incoming work and manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
- Define, optimize, and maintain production workflows from intake through post-launch analysis.
- Serve as the primary owner of marketing automation and production platforms.
- Maintain and manage audience, journey, reporting, and creative templates.
- Identify system capabilities, gaps, enhancements, and workarounds to support evolving business needs.
- Design and maintain cross-functional handoff processes between Production, Campaign Strategy, Creative, Legal, Analytics, and other teams.
- Develop and deliver training, documentation, and enablement materials for production systems and processes.
- Communicate platform changes, constraints, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Drive accountability, operational excellence, and quality standards across the production team.
- Diagnose production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Maintain and improve QA procedures, error handling processes, and fail-safe controls.
- Manage vendor, contractor, and technology provider relationships.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in marketing operations, campaign production, or production management within high-volume, multi-channel environments.
- Experience managing digital communications production teams.
- Expert-level proficiency with enterprise marketing automation platforms supporting email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging, and journey orchestration.
- Strong expertise in campaign QA processes, including content validation, rendering, audience targeting, automation testing, and deployment reviews.
- Experience creating and managing dynamic content for global and multi-language campaigns.
- Strong understanding of personalization strategies and dynamic content delivery.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and privacy compliance requirements.
- Experience managing production timelines, resource allocation, and capacity planning across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Experience gathering requirements, defining scope, and developing production briefs.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of SQL, including filtering, joins, and audience validation.
- Experience validating audience logic and troubleshooting marketing data issues.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing vendor and contractor relationships.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced SQL proficiency.
- Experience with audience segmentation, Boolean targeting logic, and suppression rule design.
- Experience with journey builder platforms, lifecycle marketing systems, and trigger-based campaign automation.
- Experience designing or improving production workflows, intake processes, and operational frameworks.
- Experience in building and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and statistical significance analysis.
