Job description

The Mom Project is partnering with a top multinational tech company on a contract Program Manager role to support a leave of coverage.

This role is 100% remote, must work PST hours. Local candidates to the Bay Area-Hybrid in Mountain View, CA (Tues–Thurs on site).

As a Program Manager, you will play a key role in driving the successful execution of strategic programs, including the Tech Impact Awards. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to manage timelines, dependencies, communications, and program documentation. This role requires someone who is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to effectively track, organize, and communicate progress across multiple stakeholders.

The team is called the Strategic Programs Team (within the P&D Strategy and Operations team) and they focus on initiatives like recognition and velocity, AI adoption and AI proficiency within Platforms and Devices.

Project Overview:

  • We are looking for a process-driven Program Manager to take end-to-end ownership of the Platforms & Devices (P&D) Tech Impact Awards (TIA) program, a critical, high-visibility recognition initiative that celebrates our organization's most impactful technical achievements.
  • This role manages the entire annual awards lifecycle, which requires data integrations, high-volume communications, and seamless cross-functional coordination. You will be the central operational hub for the program, balancing consistency with the company-wide Google TIA (GTIA) program while scaling P&D's unique hybrid evaluation model.
  • This role will also support other velocity related initiatives including some newsletter support, etc. as things arise.

Role Focus:

  • Strategic Execution & Governance: You will coordinate the annual cycle from kick-off (October) through final awards (March). This includes managing the master timeline, ensuring alignment with GTIA, and overseeing the final lock-down of the 16 P&D recipients.
  • Operational Excellence: You will design and maintain all core program infrastructure, including eligibility verification checks, nomination tracking systems (using Google Sheets/Tools), and documentation.
  • Stakeholder & Comms Management: You will manage the communications and deadlines for a diverse set of stakeholders, including seven Product Group TIA Leads, senior executives (SLT/Rick Osterloh), and cross-functional partners like HR and Comms. This includes preparing executive briefs for final approvals and orchestrating the PA-wide award announcement and subsequent recipient notifications.
  • Final Submission and Recognition: You will ensure all P&D TIA recipients are correctly submitted to the Google TIA program and that all winning key contributors receive their non-cash spot bonus, Moma badge, and public recognition.
  • Retrospective: You will be responsible for leading a reflection on the program to identify process improvements from this cycle to integrate into next year’s recognition program.

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience in a fast-paced corporate or tech environment
  • Google Workspace Proficiency: Advanced user of key Google tools is non-negotiable for success in this role, including:
      • Sheets: Expert-level data management, analysis, and pivot table creation for tracking nominations, and metrics.
      • Docs & Sites: Building and maintaining clear, organized internal documentation and program websites.
  • Program and Project Management Rigor
    • End-to-End Program Ownership: Proven ability to manage, multi-phased projects from initiation through to execution, delivery, and retrospective.
    • [Nice-to-Have] Process Design and Optimization: Some experience designing and documenting scalable operational processes. Must be able to identify and eliminate bottlenecks and manual effort.
    • Attention to Detail Excellence: Exceptional focus on granular details, particularly in managing high-volume data sets (e.g., recipient lists, budget tracking) and ensuring error-free communication across multiple channels.
    • Risk Management: Proactively identifying potential execution risks (e.g., missed deadlines, technical issues, budget overruns) and developing clear mitigation strategies.
    • [Nice-to-Have] Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to define key performance indicators (KPIs), track program metrics (e.g., participation rate, process efficiency), and use data to recommend improvements for future program cycles.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Executive Presence and Reporting: Ability to synthesize complex program information into clear, concise updates for senior leadership, including status reports, decision-making briefs, and post-program analyses.
    • High-Volume, Multi-Channel Communications: Expertise in developing and executing comprehensive communication plans across diverse channels (email, internal websites, presentations) targeting various audiences (employees, nominators, leaders).
    • Stakeholder Alignment: Strong ability to engage, influence, and manage expectations with a diverse group of stakeholders, including cross-functional partners and program sponsors.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
