Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.
We are seeking a Project Associate on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s New Verticals/Merchant Experience Operations team. This role is 100% remote.
About the Team
The New Verticals team is part of the Merchant Experience Operations organization and is responsible for building and maintaining merchant catalogs on their platform. These catalogs are critical, as they represent each merchant’s product assortment to customers across evolving lines of business. As these categories continue to grow and change, the team faces ongoing opportunities to solve new challenges and drive meaningful impact. Operating at the intersection of e-commerce and advertising, the team partners closely with Sales, Vendor Management, Strategy & Operations, and Ads & Promotions to support both merchant and CPG advertiser needs. This role helps manage the internal and external processes and channels that power client-facing catalog management and customer-facing content, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and high-quality execution. Day-to-day work is supported by tools such as JIRA, Google Suite, Salesforce, Mode/Snowflake, and internal company systems.
About the Role:
As a Project Associate within MXO New Verticals, you will deliver operational excellence, quality, and efficiency across merchant and CPG brand catalog operations. You will translate business strategy into team-level execution, ensuring KPIs are met while driving continuous improvement across workflows that support New Verticals and the CPG Advertising business. In this role, you will support Advertisers as part of the team serving as the primary intake and triage point for CPG advertiser catalog requests, managing end-to-end resolution directly with advertisers and selectively engaging Ads S&O and/or Sales stakeholders for priority clients or complex issues that impact activation or spend. You will build scalable processes that ensure timely resolution, high-quality advertiser communication, and strong cross-functional coordination, while playing a critical role in maintaining the brand catalog content that underpins the company’s CPG Ads business. You will coach and develop future leaders, drive workflow improvements, and support the integration of AI, automation, and analytical tools into daily operations, connecting high-level strategy to execution through strong people leadership and operational rigor. This remote role requires travel and reports directly to the MxO Project Manager, New Verticals CPG Ads.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end intake, triage, and resolution of CPG catalog requests, partnering with Sales on priority or complex issues and using insights to drive automation.
- Provide clear communication on timelines, status, and resolution to external CPG advertisers
- Identify recurring issues and streamline workflows to improve speed, quality, and scalability. - Partner cross-functionally with Ads, Catalog, Product, Analytics, Strategy, and S&O to unlock advertising opportunities, expand catalog coverage, and improve tooling and processes.
- Lead and develop future leaders, driving operational performance, accuracy, accountability, and talent growth.
- Work with your direct leader to translate strategic priorities into clear, executable workstreams aligned to business goals across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Leverage data and dashboards (MODE, SQL, Snowflake, GSheets) to assess trends, identify root causes, and inform operational and team-level decision-making.
- Integrate AI and automation into daily workflows by piloting and scaling solutions that increase efficiency and elevate team capability.
- Drive KPI ownership through strong tracking, validation, and visibility mechanisms.
- Build a high-performing team culture centered on learning, inclusion, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- -3–4 years of experience leading catalog operations or consulting, with a strong track record of building high-quality, detail-oriented processes in fast-moving environments.
- You are highly analytical, with intermediate to advanced Excel and/or SQL skills, and use data to drive structured problem-solving and sound decisions.
- You are a strategic thinker who can zoom in and out—diving deep into details while also shaping clear, long-term plans that align to business goals.
- You communicate clearly and effectively across all levels, translating complex operational data into actionable insights and aligned execution.
- You act with urgency and ownership, thriving in ambiguity and bringing a strong bias for action in an evolving business.
- You excel at navigating cross-functional, matrixed teams—connecting stakeholders, asking the right questions, and driving outcomes.
- You bring disciplined project management skills, maintaining visibility, momentum, and clarity across multiple initiatives.
- You are excited to integrate and scale AI and automation to improve accuracy, speed, and team effectiveness.
