Job description
Our customer is a large United States insurance company that is backed by more than 100 years of experience and provides insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the United States., Canada and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, they have more than 20 US locations.
Our Customer is seeking a contract Project Coordinator to support their ongoing business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote) in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Provide project support for business process assessment, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Process contracts and purchase orders in Workday
- Coordinate with Procurement teams to resolve processing delays and improve workflow efficiency
- Maintain project trackers, update key systems, and escalate issues as needed
- Analyze business data and provide decision support to help achieve project objectives
- Gather information from cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to support process improvements
- Prepare reports and recommendations using internal and external data
- Define and track process performance metrics and reporting requirements
- Develop tools and methods to monitor project and operational performance
- Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and communications
- Support Project Managers with resource coordination, scheduling, project tracking, and administrative activities
- Facilitate meetings and document project outcomes
- Manage smaller business projects with limited external stakeholder involvement
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience processing contracts and purchase orders in Workday
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
- Experience analyzing business processes and supporting process improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
- Knowledge of change management principles and practices
- Experience preparing project documentation and status reporting
- Ability to facilitate meetings and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
