Job description
A partner of The Mom Project in the automotive industry is seeking a contract Project Manager to help support their business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of product installation networks to scale deployment of energy products, including bidirectional and unidirectional charging systems, stationary storage, and energy management solutions
- Oversee delivery of projects from initial customer engagement through final operations approvals while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Set up and commercialize a managed installation network and support turn-key installer network operations across multiple regions
- Assist in the setup, support, operation, and optimization of a network of certified installation providers
- Track and develop metrics to manage projects, project costs, and timelines; identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, contractors, and third-party firms to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality equipment installations
- Define and enforce service-level agreements (SLAs), conduct regular performance reviews, implement corrective actions, and recommend process improvements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for installers throughout the installation process
- Assist in creating training and installation resources for products
- Ensure installations comply with local codes, utility requirements, and safety standards
- Assemble and maintain a documentation repository for permits, inspections, interconnection, incentives, and regulatory compliance
- Support additional responsibilities as necessary (e.g., surveys, data collection)
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (highly preferred)
- PMP or equivalent certification; licensed electrician; familiarity with reading and critiquing site plan sets, permitting, and utility application procedures preferred
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in residential construction, electrical installations, residential solar, storage, or EV infrastructure
- Demonstrated operational excellence and experience managing operations for trade-based, electrical, or service networks
- EV charger experience (mandatory)
- Familiarity with home energy systems (required)
- Knowledge of solar home batteries, EV chargers, and home energy systems (core competencies)
- Excellent communication, time-management, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Asana, or equivalent
- Collaborative team player with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter who considers scale when developing processes
Hours and Location:
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week.
- This role is remote with 10% travel to support required onsite project activities and supplier meetings – U.S. domestic (1 time within the 12 weeks is high)
