Title: Project Manager
Location: NYC | Murray Hill Office
Hours: 40 hrs/wk
Hourly Range: $38 - $52/hr, commensurate with experience
Status: W2 contractor to start, with expectation to convert to company payroll if mutually agreed upon

Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description:

The Project Manager will oversee high-end millwork and decorative projects, ensuring their successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating all phases of the project, from initial planning through punch list completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction:

  1. Take responsibility for project budget, schedule, and overall success.
  2. Coordinate with the Technical Manager, drafters, architects, designers, and general contractors to ensure smooth project progress.
  3. Oversee sample orders and ensure alignment with control samples, project specifications, and budget.
  4. Prepare and submit samples, shop drawings, and submittals with proper documentation, tracking approvals to maintain project timelines.
  5. Collaborate with subcontractors, placing orders after cost approvals.
  6. Gather and disseminate technical information to engineering and design teams.
  7. Maintain and update project finish schedules, door, and millwork hardware schedules.
  8. Notify clients of design changes and prepare associated change orders in coordination with the USA Director.

Quality Control and Logistics:

  1. Monitor fabrication progress to ensure alignment with budget and schedule.
  2. Prepare and manage shipping documents, packing lists, and delivery logs.
  3. Report and address any site conditions or issues that could impact the project timeline or quality.
  4. Organize and oversee the proper delivery of containers and materials to warehouses or job sites.

Installation Phase:

  1. Schedule and coordinate site deliveries, ensuring teams have necessary tools, materials, and information.
  2. Track and report changes in site conditions that could require adjustments or change orders.

Reporting and Client Management:

  1. Document and share detailed minutes of meetings (online or on-site).
  2. Regularly update clients and internal stakeholders on project progress, discrepancies, or potential risks.
  3. Prepare monthly project invoicing in collaboration with the USA Director.

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage complex technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of high-end projects while ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Minimum 5 years in interior decoration, millwork, carpentry, or high-end finishes.
  2. Technical Expertise: Proficient in reading and interpreting complex architectural and millwork shop drawings.
  3. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and relationship management skills, especially when working with demanding high-end designers, architects, and contractors.
  4. Organizational Skills: Highly detail-oriented, autonomous, and resourceful.
  5. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, as necessary for moving materials and equipment at job sites.
  6. Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  7. Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required for occasional site visits or project-related travel.
  8. Language: Fluency in French is a strong advantage but not mandatory.

Work Environment:

This is an in-office role based in the NYC showroom (Murray Hill). You will work closely with a dynamic small team to manage projects and collaborate with clients and other stakeholders.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
