We are seeking an IT Enterprise PMO Project Manager on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is 100% remote in EST hours. Onsite requirement for local candidates in Newport News, VA

This role will join the Enterprise Strategy & Planning team to develop and manager project execution plans to meet desired outcomes. The Enterprise Strategy & Planning team enables strategy development and resource alignment to support strategy execution. The team provides leadership and capabilities around strategic development, strategic planning, transformation management, business planning, and corporate venture.

As an enterprise PMO project manager, you will capture, maintain, and facilitate project plans of approved initiatives. This will require engagement with a variety of associates from initiative owners through subject matter experts. You will identify interdependencies, drive alignment, and lead task execution across project and execution teams. You’ll enable teams to execute more efficiently and deliver results faster by applying a methodology using a not-bureaucratic communication approach that supports the business strategy. Additionally, you will lead efforts to remove risks and barriers. A high degree of emotional intelligence, ability to collaborate and influence all personality types, and facilitate efficiently is key.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, facilitates, and communicates project plans including critical paths
  • Coordinates and communicates project deliverables
  • Consults and evaluates approved initiatives to help communicate goals, desired timeframes, budget, resource requirements, business impact, and execution constraints
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to identify, understand, capture and execute key milestones and tasks
  • Works to ensure alignment across execution teams throughout execution lifecycle
  • Communicates providing visibility of business objectives, execution plan, project achievements, and key performance indicators to ensure objectives are met as planned and expected
  • Documents proper project details (scope statements, schedules, budgets, etc.) as defined and necessary to execute efficiently
  • Analyzes, assesses, and recommends potential project risks and issues
  • Facilitates discussion to identify and validate risks and issues regarding project plan schedules
  • Follows and facilitates governance process while maintaining and communicating with a mindset of delivering value without adding bureaucracy
  • Develops, communicates, collaborates, aligns, and enables teams to execute within established timeframes
  • Supports stakeholders providing regular status updates on project progress as defined by the PMO
  • Schedules and facilitates project meetings and facilitates collaboration across execution teams
  • Supports the identification and communication of change impacts
  • Identifies best practices and needed process improvements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree OR 4+ years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience in human resources
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Proficient collaboration and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project)
  • Previous work-related experiences managing projects including managing and/or facilitating identification of risks, issues and decisions and driving general governance and alignment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Solid understanding in project management, principles and practices for planning, scheduling, resource allocation, monitoring, and evaluating projects
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on problem solving and resolution
  • Able to drive decision making across all levels of the organization, across multi-disciplined and matrixed teams
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Ability to plan and implement short and long term project plans and goals
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
