We are seeking a Project Manager on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in one of the following locations: NYC, Seattle, or Menlo Park.
As a Project Manager within the Legal & Compliance Operations team, you will be a strategic owner of core operational workflows. You will set and execute goals that strengthen automation, integrate AI-driven solutions, and enhance governance structures that support legal, regulatory, and enforcement programs. You will focus on driving operational maturity, efficiency, and resilience by empowering teams through scalable, self-serve tools and strategic planning.
This role requires a proactive, product-oriented mindset with a strong foundation in cross-functional leadership, strategic execution, and program governance. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of operations, technology, and compliance, and can communicate clearly across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute strategy for core legal and compliance workflows, incorporating automation, AI, and process optimization to increase maturity and efficiencies, manage risks, and reduce costs.
- Drive adoption of automation and AI across LCO by partnering with product, engineering, and LCO LOBs to build and deploy low-code/no-code automation.
- Empower operations teams to build and manage self-serve workflows that reduce manual effort and increase scalability.
- Bring a product-centric mindset to operational challenges, evaluate technology opportunities—including AI/ML—for process innovation.
- Maintain strong documentation, including but not limited to: program-wide project plan with a list of deliverables and timelines, program opportunity tracker, roadmaps, repository of action items, and take-aways.
- Keep project and task owners accountable for timely execution; identify and mitigate risks before they become blockers, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Drive the execution of stand-alone projects of various sizes and complexities to accomplish program and team goals.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track ROI, and drive continuous improvement based on operational data and strategic goals.
- Lead strategic planning cycles for operational programs, aligning roadmap milestones with company objectives and compliance obligations.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for operational readiness, program delivery, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Negotiate and communicate operational trade-offs, balancing regulatory, technical, and resourcing considerations to make strategic decisions.
- Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies across legal, product, compliance, and engineering teams.
- Lead clear, concise communication with leadership and stakeholders, including business reviews, escalation management, and root cause analysis. Draft regular program-wide communications to increase awareness and drive engagement.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience working in consulting, strategy, operations, or equivalent program management experience, or an educational degree in project management, business, marketing, technology, finance or operations
- Demonstrated experience implementing automation and AI-driven initiatives in order to improve operational efficiencies.
- Solid understanding of AI capabilities and their application in Operations.
- Effective critical thinking and experience leveraging data to anticipate and unblock problems and drive solutions
- Familiarity with Legal, Public Policy, or Regulatory space (including operations, audit, control/safeguard management, etc.), baseline understanding of legal and regulatory risks in the tech industry
- Proven time-management and organizational skills, ability to navigate ambiguity, and work independently with minimal guidance
- Experience working in a collaborative matrix environment with a diverse set of cross-functional teams to drive execution across multiple partner groups.
- Experience resolving conflicts by finding win-win scenarios, identifying tradeoffs, and setting clear priorities
- Experience in controlling risk and setting priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form, experience creating successful executive-level presentations
