Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Project Manager on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is on-site in Sunnyvale, CA.
is accountable for providing cross-functional project management on behalf of the Global Services Business Unit (GSBU) in support of new product development/introduction and executing key strategic initiatives. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between ISI's Engineering teams / Engineering PMO and the Field Service, Technical Support, Customer Success, and Service Operations teams supporting each product. With the development and introduction of new products, the Project Manager identifies service strategies, service requirements, risks, deliverables, schedules, and drives the cross-functional effort to execute Global Services readiness to the project plan. The Project Manager will tightly align with upstream/downstream business partners across assigned product line(s). The success of the Services Program Management (SPMO) team is mission critical to the success of the worldwide Global Services Business Unit (GSBU). Responsibilities:
- Provide functional, strategic, and tactical leadership to project teams accountable for new product introductions (NPI) or ongoing product sustainment on behalf of the GSBU; ensuring appropriate planning, communication, risk mitigation, and business unit readiness in alignment with product development and commercialization target dates
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and communicate status and risks cross-functionally to GSBU stakeholders. Integrate with Engineering during product development to drive service requirements upstream to Engineering, directly impacting product design and the ability of the GSBU to efficiently install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the product. Ensure that domestic & global service strategies, assumptions, business opportunities are measured & periodically reviewed throughout duration of project execution & initial product launch
- Maintain a portfolio of working projects for assigned program, organize and run design review meetings to Services leadership team Exceptional partnership and communication with internal and external business units (marketing and engineering teams), bridging development processes, approaches, and cultures.
- Work with partner groups to gain alignment & help to achieve project priorities. Leadership and coordination of staff planning, organizational design, and strategy to anticipate and ensure readiness for future business needs

Qualifications
- 4-year degree (Bachelor's degree or global equivalent) in Engineering or a scientific field preferred, business, finance or other related field will be considered in conjunction with experience
- Proven record of bringing products to market acting as project manager on behalf of Field Service/Service Operations
- Minimum 4+ years of experience helping complex capital equipment (medical devices and/or robotics desired/preferred), including mechanical, electrical, and software elements containing a large number of SKUs
- Experience working in help of a Field Service and/or Technical Help organization
- Experience influencing product development on behalf of service, familiarity with Design For Serviceability/Maintenance (DFS/DFM) values and practices
- Ability to promote ideas persuasively, influence others, and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal partners and business managers
- An autonomous thinker willing and able to express and help a point of view.
- Demonstrated ability to think innovatively, linking the dots when others cannot.

- PMP or other project management certification preferred

- Can change course, be scrappy, and get things done on short timeframes.
- Experience working in a regulated environment. Familiarity with medical device regulations – CFR & ISO preferred.
