We are seeking a Public Policy Manager on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in Washington, DC.
The Public Policy Manager will coordinate and build policy programs that demonstrate the value of the organization’s platforms and products to policymakers and other key audiences in the United States. This role spans a wide range of content, policy, and product areas and contributes directly to advancing organizational goals by developing and supporting initiatives that educate and inform external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, highly organized, and able to operate independently in a fast-moving environment. This individual must be adept at navigating complex policy and reputation challenges, building trust across internal teams, and engaging effectively with external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and execute policy programs, experiences, events, and outreach efforts to educate and inform policy stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Policy, Product, Legal, Communications, Partnerships, and additional internal teams to support policy objectives.
- Build and manage partnerships with external stakeholders, representing the organization at events, conferences, coalition meetings, and working groups.
- Support engagement with policymakers, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, industry partners, and thought leaders.
- Prepare senior leaders for meetings, events, and public engagements involving third-party groups and stakeholders.
- Develop and refine internal processes to streamline team operations and improve cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel as required to support program execution and stakeholder engagement.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2–5 years of experience in government, technology, public policy, nonprofit organizations, or related environments.
- Experience developing and managing partnerships.
- Proven capability in program management across multiple teams or stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to build and organize communities of stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience engaging with advocacy networks or public-facing stakeholder groups.
- Background in agency, corporate, or nonprofit environments requiring high-level coordination and joint program execution.
Preferred:
- Strong understanding of policy issues within the technology, government, or nonprofit sectors.
- Experience working effectively with internal and external partners across multiple disciplines.
- Confidence representing the organization at events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
