Job description

Our client, a renowned artisanal chocolatier based in San Rafael, CA, is excited to hire a PR Manager to develop and execute communications and media strategies, and coordinate all PR activities. The company is shifting its strategy to target more corporate accounts and needs someone with Public Relations experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. The ideal candidate has relationships with media outlets and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Create compelling content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis to stakeholders
  • Evaluate opportunities for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an on-going basis
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting the company and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of proven working experience in Public Relations, preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level
  • Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to craft compelling stories
  • Solid experience leveraging social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc. for PR efforts
  • BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline
