Job description

This position is for a full-time Publisher (Remote) where you will be publishing for manuals in the aviation industry.


Required Skills

• Tech Savvy and has a good understanding of computers

• Experience in Adobe FrameMaker (Unstructured Required, Structured A Bonus)

• Experience managing manuals in Microsoft WORD

• Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong vocabulary with outstanding spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills

• Ability to multitask while performing high quality work with attention to detail

• Aviation experience and understanding of aviation terminology, regulations, and industry standards

• Effective communication skills and able to interact with subject material experts and authors

• Able to collaborate effectively with client and other members of the publishing and proofing team

• Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to content and formatting

• Customer Service or client care preferred but not required

• Technical Writing experience is preferred but not required



Here are some tasks/items you can expect to do in your role:

• Work in a heavily regulated industry as part of a Technical Publication team with airlines and other aviation-related organizations

• Process changes in aviation manuals while adhering to client’s style guide and formatting rules

• Process time-sensitive bulletins in aviation manuals to ensure necessary information gets to the users quickly

• Process revisions to aviation manuals adhering to client’s style guide and formatting rules

• Create Adobe FrameMaker manuals from PDFs

• Reformat existing client aviation manuals into newly designed manual templates

• Process all publishing tasks within JETPUBS’s established turn times

• Complete publishing tasks within JETPUBS’s time standards

• Follow established file management guidelines

• Communicate to clients on project updates and any client care needs

• Make expert recommendations to the clients regarding improvements to their manuals

• Work with clients on special project needs such as creating a new Normal Checklist

Hours of Operations – 8 AM – 5 PM CST M-F

100% remote

Travel – 10%

Salary range - $50,000-60,000
