Job description
Our customer is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers. They help researchers make new discoveries, doctors and nurses improve the lives of patients, and lawyers develop winning strategies. They prevent online fraud and money laundering and help insurance companies evaluate and predict risk. Their events combine in-person and digital experiences to help customers learn about markets, source products and complete transactions. In short, they enable customers to make better decisions, get better results and be more productive.
We are seeking a Recruiting Lead on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
We are looking for a person to to identify attorney experts or academics with specific practice area experience in specific states, helping find authors for Secondary/Treatise content. This person/people would have to work with multiple Editorial Directors, Legal Editors and Product Managers and their content plans and work either by state or by practice area to identify experts, vet their experience and ultimately onboard them through author agreement and manuscript submission. This is remote work position.
What You'll Do:
- Work with secondary content teams to understand recruiting needs
- Recruit expert authors to write legal treatises.
- Recruiting for several different practice areas for both federal and jurisdictional titles.
- Email and call potential candidates (including following-up)
- Compile author candidate pool through online research and/or professional network and also utilizing Artificial Intelligence where appropriate.
- Collaborate with Editorial team to transition author to contract negotiations
- Coordinate and delegate work among a small group of external, full/part-time author commissioning contractors
- Ability to attend staff and recruiter meetings at regular intervals
- Create a system to track outreach and success
- Create and maintain author recruiting documentation
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required; J.D. a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of Legal recruiting experience required
- Ability to work collaboratively across practice areas and topics
- Strong network of attorneys and academics
- Ability to delegate and hold peers accountable for success
- Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Experienced in using technology to track and report result
- Legal Knowledge: Understanding of legal principles, terminology, and research methods.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with practicing attorneys, professors and other attorneys identified as potential author candidates.
- Need to communicate high level contract terms to be further negotiated.
- Writing Proficiency: Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write in a clear, concise, and persuasive style.
- Recruitment Expertise: Experience in sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating candidates for writing positions.
- Understanding that legal recruiting is a numbers game often requiring numerous outreaches before successful candidate is found.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
