By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

Our Customer is seeking a Reliability Test Technician on a contract basis to support the development and testing of autonomous platforms at both system and component levels.

This role plays a critical part in validating performance, durability, and reliability through structured and methodical test execution. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience designing and executing test plans in an organized and disciplined manner and demonstrates a strong passion for improving robotic systems through rigorous validation and failure analysis.

This role requires on-site presence, and candidates must be located within commuting distance of San Francisco, CA (Bay Area).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to execute tests and document findings to support root cause analysis
  • Conduct hands-on testing with electronics, sensors, actuators, and structural components
  • Develop and document detailed test procedures and results to ensure repeatability and future reference
  • Maintain an organized and efficient test lab environment
  • Provide ongoing feedback to improve test specifications, setups, and system performance
  • Support testing activities at external laboratories and field test sites
  • Operate and monitor environmental test chambers, vibration tables, and mechanical load frames
  • Utilize data acquisition systems and instrumentation to capture and analyze test data
  • Assist with system integration and testing in Linux-based environments

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, or robotics industries
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and technical datasheets
  • Experience operating environmental test chambers, vibration tables, and mechanical load frames
  • Experience soldering, crimping, and managing cables in lab or shop environments
  • Proficiency using lab tools and equipment, including DAQ systems, sensors, measurement instruments, 3D printers, and shop power tools
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar for model navigation and design edits
  • Experience working with Linux systems for robotics testing and integration
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel to field test locations as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in hands-on lab or warehouse environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting robotic system validation and troubleshooting
  • Experience working in fast-paced hardware development or prototype environments

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
