Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling their mission to grow and empower local economies.

We are seeking a Retail Merchandising Associate on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.

This role will own the execution of always-on retail merchandising programs that drive customer awareness, discovery, and conversion across the retail marketplace. The position covers the end-to-end merchandising lifecycle—from trend identification through on-platform placement—and requires collaboration with Marketing, Product, Shopex, Growth, and Analytics teams.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, balancing data-driven decision-making with creativity to deliver scalable merchandising initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end evergreen merchandising initiatives that connect off-app discovery to in-app conversion.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, Shopex, Growth, Analytics) to design, launch, and optimize merchandising programs.
  • Support both monetary and non-monetary campaigns in partnership with merchants and Marketing, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Identify and react to cultural, seasonal, and trend-based signals (e.g., viral products, trending categories, new releases).
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics (CTR, CVR, GOV lift, engagement) to measure effectiveness and guide improvements.
  • Maintain high-quality retail storytelling that balances merchant brand identity with customer relevance.
  • Contribute to playbooks and SOPs to codify best practices for retail merchandising.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in merchandising, marketing operations, or category management, ideally within tech, retail, e-commerce, or marketplaces.
  • Strong balance of data-driven and creative thinking in merchandising decisions.
  • Ownership mindset—focused on improving processes, scaling learnings, and delivering measurable results.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous, evolving environments.
  • Strong organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent programs with attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with merchandising or marketing analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with SEO, paid media, or affiliate marketing programs.
  • Understanding of retail category dynamics.

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
