Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Retention Marketing Manager to join their team on a contract basis.

About the Team

Etsy’s Seller Retention and Engagement Marketing (REM) team is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, data integration, production, deployment, and analysis of seller marketing campaigns. These campaigns provide over 6 million sellers with the support they need to continue to grow their business on Etsy.

About the Role

The Seller Retention & Engagement Marketing Developer will join Etsy’s Seller REM team, supporting the execution of high-quality marketing campaigns for our global community of sellers. In this role, you will build, test, and deploy email, push, and IAM tactics that help sellers stay engaged, informed, and successful on Etsy.

You’ll work closely with members of the Seller REM team, as well as partners across Marketing, Analytics, Product, and Engineering, to bring campaigns to life through thoughtful technical execution. You’ll help ensure templates, workflows, and automations run smoothly and that experiments are set up correctly to drive measurable outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, technically curious, and enjoys translating marketing requests into reliable production builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, QA, and maintain email, push, and in-app messaging workflows for Seller REM campaigns
  • Implement personalization and dynamic content using HTML, CSS, and conditional logic languages such as Liquid
  • Test and validate campaigns using tools such as Litmus
  • Support setup and execution of automated Canvases and experiments within a marketing automation platform
  • Troubleshoot issues related to templates, data fields, segmentation, and message delivery
  • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to process improvements that increase speed, quality, and reliability
  • Stay current on updates and best practices related to marketing automation and messaging technologies

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working with a marketing automation platform (e.g., Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable); direct experience with Braze is a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of HTML and CSS, including use of conditional logic languages such as Liquid
  • Familiarity with APIs and data integrations
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Ability to translate campaign requirements into clean, scalable technical builds
  • Familiarity with SQL or basic data querying for QA and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with audience segmentation or targeting logic
  • Understanding of email deliverability fundamentals and best practices
  • Prior experience supporting lifecycle, CRM, or retention programs in a marketplace or e-commerce environment

Hours and Location:

  • M-F, 40 hours
  • 100% remote
