Job description

Flexible, part-time opportunity

W2, 20 hours/week

$40-45/hour

Hybrid during core business hours

Office Location: Arlington, VA- Near Pentagon Metro Stop


Retirement Plan Administration

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of all aspects of all retirement plans (401k, 457b, 457f, Pension), as well as required annual retirement plan testing, reporting, actions, audits, and communication, ensuring compliance with plan and regulatory requirements
  • Manage issue troubleshooting, resolution of concerns, employee enrollments, separations processing, auditing of changes in vendor and payroll systems, and corrections processing in compliance with plan and regulatory requirements
  • With guidance from Director of Human Resources and in coordination with Legal as appropriate, ensure compliance with retirement-related regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and other applicable rules
  • Assist Director of Human Resources in the timely and accurate submission of regulatory report filings such as, but not limited to, Form 5500
  • Build and maintain employee-facing retirement plan materials for onboarding and offboarding processes, as well as communication of retirement plan structures and benefits to employees
  • Facilitate and manage vendor interactions, in coordination with the Director of Human Resources, and serve as the liaison between employees and vendor
  • Support Director of Human Resources in the preparation of retirement plan materials and presentations to Board and associated Committees

Payroll Administration

  • Support end-to-end bi-weekly and other payment processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for salaried and hourly positions, including the input, review, and confirmation of changes in retirement plan contributions and benefits deductions each cycle, ensuring concurrence between vendor platform data and HRIS data
  • Correspond with local/state tax agencies, as well as payroll vendor, to research and resolve remittance and filing requirements, as required
  • Assist with tax filings/adjustments, and payroll audits and reconciliations
  • Effectively utilize HRIS to research and resolve payroll-related matters
  • Generate payroll reports, as required

HR Ticketing System Coordination

  • Review and assign tickets submitted via internal HR system to appropriate HR team members, owning resolution of tickets related to retirement plans
  • Ensure operational and customer service excellence in each transaction through timely, accurate, courteous, and appropriate responses to employees
  • Assist with other duties and projects, as assigned
