Revenue Accountant

This role is 100% remote and the candidate must be willing to work Singapore Standard hours.

We are looking for an exceptional Revenue Accountant to join our dynamic finance team on a contract basis. This role has flexible hours, approximately 20-40 hrs/ week as desired. The role is remote and can be located anywhere, but will require close collaboration with our accounting team in Singapore, so must be willing to work at least a couple of hours a day in Singapore time zone.

The ideal candidate should be an expert in Accounting Standards Codification (ASC 606), possess in-depth knowledge of SAAS revenue recognition, and have hands-on experience with Netsuite ARM. As a Revenue Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.

You will also be responsible to:

• ASC 606 Expertise:
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of ASC 606 standards and their application to revenue recognition processes, particularly SaaS and services revenue
  • Stay abreast of any updates or changes to ASC 606 and ensure continuous compliance
  • Assist with standalone selling price (SSP) determination
• Netsuite ARM Proficiency:
  • Review incoming customer contracts and document the company’s RevRec position contemporaneously
  • For significant contracts, tie out the data flowing into Netsuite to the original contract, and recalculate the revenue allocations and monthly revenue recognition plans
  • Assist in reviewing, validating, and building Netsuite reports in order to ensure revenue recognized is accurate and complete
• Financial Analysis:
  • Collaborate with the finance team to analyze revenue trends, especially fluctuation analysis, and variances from expected revenue per ARR
• Audit Support:
  • Prepare documentation and support for external audits related to revenue recognition
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and respond to auditor inquiries
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of revenue accounting procedures and Netsuite reports

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification preferred
• Proven experience as a Revenue Accountant with a focus on ASC 606 and SAAS revenue recognition
• Hands-on experience with Netsuite ARM
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
